Our Purpose As A Congregation – The goal of the Anthony church of Christ in Ocala, Florida is to serve God in the way prescribed by His inspired Word, the Bible. We strive to use the Bible as our only authority for all that we do and will gladly show book, chapter and verse to answer any question a visitor may have. The worship services, Bible studies and spiritual guidance are geared towards salvation of the soul. Through our obedience to Jesus Christ, the Bible teaches that we will achieve a much more satisfying, fulfilling life here on earth, but more importantly will give us the confident assurance that we can spend eternity in heaven with other saved Christians.
Evangelism is Every Christian’s Responsibility – While we have an evangelist and two elders, it is the duty of every Christian to spread the Word to the best of our individual abilities. Each of us have God-given abilities and we are called by the scriptures to put those to use in our service to God and Jesus’ church. We are to be an example to those around us, reflecting a Christian lifestyle at all times. And we should all know enough about the Bible to be able to give an answer from the scriptures to anyone who asks about our Christian life or the doctrine of Christ.
II Timothy Chapter 2 verse 15: Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. Let’s resolve to read our Bibles more consistently. In a time filled with uncertainty and a lack of spiritual knowledge, a Bible study of God’s Word is the most important commitment we can make. Every day is an opportunity to better understand the Christ-like path we should follow. If we put into practice the things that we read in the Bible, there is no better goal to obtain!
